David Dale, 2010 Community VPThis last weekend at the US Jaycees Annual Meeting was a tremendous experience. Their was a lot of great training and I met a lot of wonderfull people. If you were not able to attend this conference, it is never to early to begin planning for Chicago next June. It is an experience that you will never forget.

I would like to tell everyone how excited I was to see everyone at LTU. I truly enjoy seeing Jaycees further thier Jaycees knowledge and experience, and what a better way to do this then having the US Jaycees National President, President Jeff Lank, come to our State. One point I'd to to touch on, which is new for the Jaycees, is the Neighborwoods Program and Green Initiative.

The "Going Green" movement is a movement that the Jaycees want to be a part of and the Neighborwwods is one way to do this. In this program, The US Jaycees encourage chapters to plant trees in thier community. The goal of the US Jaycees is to have 75 chapters plant 100 trees, Nationwide. This is just one way the Jaycees are going "Green". If you want to know some other ways that you or your Chapter can "Go Green" please contact Me or any memebr of the Executive Board. If your wondering, the Florida Jaycees have started this Green Initiative with this Website.

I just wanted to remind all Chapters that this year's Relay for Life is right around the corner. If you are not sure where they are having a relay in your area, you can go to the A.C.S. website (www.cancer.org) and search for relays where you live. Also if your chapter is going to participate, which I encourage all chapters to do, make sure you register on the A.C.S. website and also send me the info for your Chapter's Team. By registering, we can track your team’s progress and accurately report the amount of money raised to A.C.S. Thank you and if you are having any problems getting registered, please contact me and I will help you out. Hello Florida Jaycees. I would like to thank everyone that attended Year End Conference. I had an amazing time and met a lot of great Jaycees. I would also like to congratulate the Panama City Jaycees for taking home the Tony Nero (Most Excited Chapter) Award.

Also I would like to remind all chapters to register at www.relayforlife.org to sign up. When you are signing up your team, it is important to remember to select “Jaycees” under the Team Company/Organization section. This is how the State and National’s will be tracking our progress. If you have any problems registering, please contact me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will help you through the process. I encourage all chapters to sign up and participate in Relay for Life.

Another A.C.S. (American Cancer Society) project which President Arwen has adopted as her “Pet Project” is Making Strides Making Strides for Breast Cancer. You can go to the Making Strides website (http://makingstrides.acsevents.org/) to learn more about this project and to find out where in you area they are “Making Strides”

Also remember that the projects we have listed are Florida and US Jaycees priority projects. Any project that you do run that helps the community is a Community Project. You can go to the Community Area of Opportunity to learn all the ways in which you can help your Community.

Again thank you everyone for a fantastic weekend and I hope to see all of you at L.T.U. on February 20th.
